Stephens signs with Ohio St.
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Fullerton College outfielder Mike Stephens signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Ohio State on a scholarship that covers his entire tuition.
Stephens, a 2006 graduate of Victor Valley High School, was a junior college all-American this past season and was named student-athlete of the year at Fullerton College. He hit .434, second in the Orange Empire Conference, with 72 hits, 43 runs and 46 RBIs.
“Going to a Division I school is like a long journey but I finally got there,” Stephens said. “The whole college atmosphere is amazing (at Ohio State). I really liked the coaching staff and the atmosphere.”
Stephens was also contacted by TCU, Virginia Tech and Western Carolina.
