Bell signs with Cal State Stanislaus

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Granite Hills graduate Luther Bell signed a national letter of intent with Cal State Stanislaus for track and field this week.

Bell was recruited to compete in the long and triple jump as well as run on relays for the Division II school.

He also received offers from Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Fullerton, Texas Southern and Utah Valley State but chose Stanislaus for its campus and environment. Bell plans to major in forensic science or criminal justice and has a desire to get into criminal science investigations after graduating.

As a senior, Bell — who was only in his second season of competition — took home Desert Sky League titles in the long and triple jump, and was later an alternate for the CIF-Southern Section Division II Finals in the long jump. After the season, Bell took fifth in the triple jump at the Golden West Invitational on June 7 in Folsom.
