Small joins Owens at Northwestern College

Tracy Small became the second Silverado football player in the last week to sign a national letter of intent with Northwestern College in Iowa.

Small, a defensive lineman, received a partial school scholarship from the NAIA college. He held a 4.0 grade point average this year and plans to major in business administration.

Small’s teammate Walter Owens also signed with the college earlier in the week.

The Red Raiders are a member of the NAIA and play in the Great Plains Athletic Conference, making the playoffs five years in a row. They were 8-2 in 2007, with a perfect 5-0 record at home.

Small said he looks forward to the different level of play in college.
