Beltran headlines All-MRL baseball team
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Hesperia’s Steve Beltran was named the Mojave River League Player of the Year as the All-MRL baseball team was released Tuesday.
Beltran, a sophomore outfielder, led the second-place Scorpions with a .432 overall batting average and a .487 average in league play, according to maxpreps.com.
Four of Beltran’s Hesperia teammates — infielder Cameron Heckman, outfielder Adam Estrada, catcher Will Kocot and Chris Martini in the utility spot — were named to the All-MRL first team.
League champion Sultana had three first-team selections: Robert Vindiola (infield), Kenny McMurray (outfield) and Trever Haas (utility).
Third-place Serrano garnered five selections: pitchers Dean Fouse and Alex Neelans, infielders Chad Archambo and Jake Whiting and outfielder Skyler Bellanger.
Pitcher Bobby Cha was the lone representative for Apple Valley.
